DAILY DIFFERENCE DEVOTION 05/26/2010:

Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. (2 TIMOTHY 1:13 ESV)

"THINK BIBLICALLY 2: Your Thesis"

I am drawing these next couple of devotions on my study of the Hegelian dialectic process.  The sole purpose will be to aid Christians to think biblically like our brothers and sisters from the 1st Century.  Taking a good exegetical study of the Bereans in Acts 17:11; this is to be attained.  The Christian should be able to think biblically in every possible situation he/she is placed under.  First this should lead us to understand what the dialectic is.

Dialectic is a method of argument, or better put a dialogue between two or more people.  You converse and dialogue with men everyday of your life; which makes thinking biblically important in the everyday processes of your life.  Your thesis, according to the worldly philosopher G W F Hegel, is an intellectual proposition; better put your truth that you know and live by.  For the Christian, our truth is absolute; meaning our truth is in the Word of God alone.  AlÄ“theia is what God sanctifies us by (John 17:17).  The Word of God is our thesis, and the only way for us to see the Father (John 14:6).  It is the truth which all true Christians believe and live by (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4).  In the stages of dialogue or argument, the Word of God should be your thesis.  You must hold to this thesis no matter what argument is cast against you. In fact, no worldly thought is higher than the Word of Jesus Christ; absolutely none (Isaiah 54:17, John 16:33, Romans 8:31-39).  Even if it is well packaged; an argument against the Lord Jesus Christ will not hold water.

Now the question becomes, how do I keep to the biblical thesis?   Simple, obey the Word of God which says;

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof]. (Romans 13:14)

[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.  (Galatians 5:16)

Study your bible, apply the Word of God to your life (2 Timothy 2:15). Think on the scripture, and it will keep you from sin (Psalm 119:11).  Make biblically thinking your practice; make the Word of God your thesis.  His Word is truth. I end of with this verse below.  May the Word of God bless your thought life!!

But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned [them]; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  (2 Timothy 3:14-17)
