DAILY DIFFERENCE DEVOTION 05/25/2010

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (ROMANS 12:2 KJV)

"THINK BIBLICALLY"

Cults have put a bad name upon Christianity.  From Jehovah Witnesses to Mormons, these cults have played the part in men doing some mind boggling things.  The dangers today are new cults that hide themselves behind Christian church.  The pastor could be the cult leader in the sense of speaking a dialectic unknown to his members or followers.  The crazy thing is they hide behind the scriptures.  Now, let me make clear, this is not meant to freak you out in not trusting churches, whether institutionalized or house structures.  Many guys go too far in their defense of their experiences trying to back what they believe up biblically.  The point of this devotion is to show that the Lord Jesus Christ wants you to think biblically.

The only One who has the authority to tell you how to think is God (Matthew 22:37).  He does this only in His Word (2 Timothy 3:10-17, Hebrews 4:12).  No body else can shape your thinking, and be not quick to pride yourself in your own thinking (Proverbs 16:25, Jeremiah 17:9, 1 Corinthians 10:12, ); that is a danger in itself.  Only Christ Jesus the Lord should shape your thoughts and guide you with the right motives.

Think biblically with everything that you face in this life; even those things that seem minute.  Syschēmatizō  means not to form your thinking/life in pattern to another's, or better yet the world's.  Instead your mind should be metamorphoō anakainōsis.  Simply put, your mind should be transfigured to a complete change for the better.  This is a work by the Holy Ghost resembling His work in our salvation (Titus 3:3-5). Jesus Christ opens our minds to think biblically: to understand truly what the Lord is saying. (Luke 24:45).

Let no man, cult or even a truth telling preacher guide your thoughts.  Allow God's Word tell you how to think and live your life according to the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ.
By thinking biblically, the Lord God Almighty shall receive glory.  Amen
