Having a discussion with a brother in the Lord Jesus Christ, we shook our heads in disgust because of the things going on today. We want to know how is that so many people seem to be like Christians and yet still love the world? It has baffled me for years because I have seen some of these people preach so-called anointed messages, and then in the sexual sin. It makes no sense yet the scriptures speak so well of this:
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (1 John 2:15)
I have watched desiring the Lord Jesus Christ turn away because the they see these types of people. So is it true, can you love the world (clubbing, sex, drinking) and still love the Lord Jesus? NO

ReplyDeleteI am about an hour from Germantown. The closet reformed church is on Columbia which is about 15 minutes away. I am learning about the reformed theology because it focuses on the scripture alone. My family has left the United Methodist denomination church, looking for a place that is solid in bible. In time Christ will have us were we need to be. But it looks like home church is where we are headed for. We are going to check out more reformed churches soon, just with two kids and a third on the way, you never know what's going to happen with them. Hey anytime you see that I'm erroring in doctrine somehow, feel free to correct me. I am open to that. God bless brother Tryis
