Westboro Baptist Church is the ugly face of so-called Christianity in America which makes me sick. Any church that claims to be for God and shows up at funeral, to picket, is NOT A CHRISTIAN CHURCH. I am not sorry, debate if you want, where in scripture do you see the Lord Jesus Christ showing up at a funeral, to picket against the wickedness and sin running ramped? Never! So what has Westboro Baptist Church discovered about God that the homosexuals of American, and now UK need to know?

Westboro Baptist Church believes that God will punish the West for it’s acceptance of homosexuals. So their message is to tell others that God hates homosexuals, and the sin of the United States? They have gotten the message wrong. Have they done Eisegesis on Ephesians 5:

Ephesians 5:3-11 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

I used to be a Christian who loved to parade around making people know of God’s wrath being against them. I loved to tell the sinner, repent or go to hell. Wait a minute, but how should I do this? Just as Jesus Christ did? Yes, and the first two verse brings the context of Ephesians 5, so that darkness works are reproved biblically:

Ephesians 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

So is walking in love protesting against gays? Is showing up at funerals and gay pride parades with signs demonstrating that Christ died while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8)? No it is not. Beloved, we cannot convert any sinner to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We can say a 1000 words from scripture and the homosexual can still die in his sin. In fact Jesus Christ Himself, told the Pharisees they were not of Him, yet they still did not come to saving faith (John 8:12-56). It takes the work of God’s Spirit to draw a man to repentance in Jesus Christ (John 12:32).

Wait Karsten, hold up a minute. The Apostles spoke to the crowds telling them to repent; Jesus Christ spoke to the crowds and said to repent. Yes, Christ did, and the disciples did as well. But did they hold up signs or say with their mouth what God hated? Did they proclaim destruction, doom, and gloom, or truly announce the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ? Let’s see:

Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

Now look hard, where are proclaiming God hates you! Now, they are saying repent, and believe in the Good News. There is no pointing out of their fornication etc, just a call to repent and turn to the true God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

But Westboro Baptist Church makes signs and threatens America with destruction. It shows up at funerals picketing, and you know what, the bottles that are thrown at them are well deserved. That’s not suffering for Jesus Christ, that’s being foolish and being rewarded for it.

Don’t be masquerading around hatred and claiming you’re of the Church. You love Jesus Christ, then why are you picketing against gays? Should you not be living and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Can you invite a homosexual to stay in your home, feed him, clothe him, and take care of him? If no, what are you doing out in the street protesting against them? That is foolishness, and you will continue to be rebuked by men cussing at you, or throwing objects at you. Dear Westboro, I’ll leave you with a true way to show men Jesus Christ, and look he doesn't proclaim that God hates them, hmmmm:

Acts 17:22-34 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. So lets see what the scripture says we can say to demons:

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge in the lust of defiling passion and despise authority. Bold and willful, they do not tremble as they blaspheme the glorious ones, whereas angels, though greater in might and power, do not pronounce a blasphemous judgment against them before the Lord.

More than at anytime in the history of their movement, Charismatics are claiming to experience signs and wonders in the form of miraculous healings, resurrections from the dead, time-travel into the past, dreams and visions, spare body parts in heaven, prophecies, supernatural manifestations, angelic visitations, visits to heaven and to the throne of God, and one-on-one encounters with Biblical prophets, apostles, and "Jesus Christ."

And Patricia King and her Extreme Prophetic team is no exception.

Patricia King is a professing Christian and the founder and president of Extreme Prophetic. Her claims of supernatural manifestations--such as diamonds, rubies, gemstones, gold dust, gold nuggets, gold glitter, oil-soaked Bibles, and angel feathers--has caused a great deal of concern, controversy, and skepticism.

While King and others maintain the manifestations are a supernatural blessing from God, others say the manifestations are nothing more than sideshow gimmicks to draw the crowds, and draw away their hard-earned money.

In her January 23, 2008 article, "WHEAT AND TARES IN THE SAME FIELD OF SUPERNATURAL PHENOMENA IN 2008," Patricia King maintains that the "Lord" will intensify supernatural manifestations in 2008, and testifies of her encounters with the supernatural--both the true and the false:
In the last 7 years there has been accelerated manifestations of supernatural phenomena. Healings, deliverances, manifestations of glitter, feathers, gemstones, various heavenly fragrances, visions, angelic visitations and heavenly encounters are a few. In 2008, the Lord will increase the amount and the intensity of true supernatural phenomena in His church. It is going to be both glorious and necessary for the Body of Christ as we grow in understanding of the power of the invisible Kingdom of God being made manifest in the earth. While the true manifestations of the Kingdom accelerate, so also will the false--both in the church and in the world. [ http://tinyurl.com/WheatTares ]
On one hand, King claims to recognize true manifestations. On the other hand, she warns against false manifestations, but is confident that "feathers" are an integral part of the signs and wonders movement.

However, is Patricia King willing to produce the evidence to back her claims?

In the following excerpts from her December 20, 2005 "Prophetic Directives For 2006," Patricia King shares a story about an angelic visitation that not only shimmers with New Age, but resembles the central theme of the popular book and movie series, The Lord of the Rings:
In December 2005, our producer Shirley Ross was visited by an angel called "Purity". Purity is a white eagle with piercing fiery eyes and yet soft, gentle, and dove-like in nature. Shirley also saw a golden ring that Purity carried. It was a ring of power and protection and it was placed around individuals and groups who chose the virtue of purity. I was present during the visitation and also felt the presence of Purity at that time although I did not see it...The angel Purity returned the next day and the day after. Patricia King (formerly known as Pat Coking), has a fascination with angelic eagles that borders on the surreal. In her January 24, 2002 article, "Vision of Eagles-A Prophetic Destiny for Canada through Pat Coking," she stated that,
At the Eyes and Wings Conference in Kelowna, angels filled the sanctuary, hundreds of them. Their heads were like the heads of eagles and their bodies were like angels – white, pure, glistening. They were building nests and sitting on eggs. The eggs were the prophets that were being raised up for the last days. These angels were assigned to incubate the eggs and were mandated to call the eaglets out of their shells, for it is now the time. [ http://tinyurl.com/ProphetEggs ]
And Todd Bentley and Bob Jones1 aren't the only ones who claim to have encountered a female angel. Add Patricia King to the list:
The angel of Wisdom appeared in the vision. She had a lamp in her right hand and in her left was a little gold book with silver lined pages. The book was called "The Eternal Word". The print inside the book was written in blood red. She said, "from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it, you shall surely die. While a white eagle-angel named "Purity" with feathers on its breast is found nowhere in Scripture, and while eagle-angels hatching prophet-eggs cannot be backed by Scripture, and while female angels do not exist in Scripture, statements of this nature demonstrate how incredibly deceived these people are. This, in itself, should cause Patricia King's followers to fly to the nearest exit and separate from her and Extreme Prophetic.

Ironically, Patricia King's article, "Prophetic Directives For 2006," includes the following paragraph, which falls under the category of, The deceived warning the deceived about being deceived:
Deceitful last day’s doctrines will attempt to be birthed into the minds of believers that will give license to lustful and worldly pleasures. Confusion will come to some as supernatural visions, revelations and even some scriptures will be used to support the doctrine. These doctrines will seem right to some but the end will be destruction. They will fall away from the truth as a result. [ http://tinyurl.com/AngelEagle ]
Again, The deceived warning the deceived about being deceived.

Clouded minds

Common with all false teachers is mixing a little truth with a lot of deception. One part truth, shaken and stirred with two-parts deception--then bottled in a new, divine revelation--produces a demonic cocktail sauce waiting to be spoon-fed to impressionable, Biblically illiterate Christians.

False teachers are subtle and methodical in their approach. Slowly but surely, they condition their followers to nod their heads in approval over things that God has clearly warned against for thousands of years. And when they know their claims and teachings become too "controversial," false teachers go to great lengths to explain it away, and always caution or warn their followers to avoid those who "judge falsely" and "attack God's anointed."

But what the followers of false teachers fail to realize is that God commands the believer to judge righteously and without hypocrisy (Matthew 7:1-6; Matthew 18:15-17; John 7:24; 1 Corinthians 6:3-5).

And when false prophets and false teachers spew their doctrines of demons, God commands Christians to guard the flock, defend the faith, and expose false teachers publicly (Acts 20:27-31; Jude 3; Ephesians 5:11). How else are Christians to know the vast difference between truth and deception than to test the claims and teachings by God's written word?

Truth mixed with error leads the innocent and unwary away from Jesus Christ and sound doctrine into the arms of the world and eternal separation from God.

They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error (1 John 4:5-6).

Again, from her December 20, 2005 article, "Prophetic Directives For 2006," Patricia King states that,
The nature of deception is that when you are in it, you do not know it. Strong relational accountability will be needed to help avoid the pitfalls that come with deceptive doctrines and mindsets. ["Prophetic Directives For 2006," http://tinyurl.com/AngelEagle ]
The conditioning process prepares the mind for deception. Deception clouds the conscience and the thinking process therein. Doctrines of demons burn the conscience like a hot iron. Departing from the faith opens the door to seducing spirits (1 Timothy 4:1-2).

Patricia King would do well to follow her own advice.

Signs or the Savior?

Question: Is a claim true simply because someone says it is true? Answer: No. A claim without proof is like a bird without feathers--it won't fly. The burden of proof rests with the one making the claim.

Common sense dictates that when a person makes a claim, but refuses to provide PROOF, it calls into question ALL the claims he or she has made, both past and present.

Most importantly, where in God's written word does it teach that diamonds, rubies, gemstones, diamond glitter, gold dust, gold nuggets, gold glitter, oil-soaked Bibles, oily stigmata, purple angels, angelic footprints, and angel feathers are supernatural manifestations of God? It doesn't.

Supernatural manifestations said to appear out of nowhere, specifically those described and supposedly experienced by Patricia King and others, are found nowhere in God's written word. Yet, those caught up in the signs and wonders movement are listening to false teachers over Scripture, and claim the manifestations are from God in heaven.

It is the experience (personal feelings and emotions) that cause people to look to themselves and place their trust in what man teaches, instead of trusting in the Lord. It is the experience (something seen; something felt; something tangible) that takes precedence over the written word of God. It is the experience that draws people away from Jesus Christ and into deception. It is the experience, instead of the Holy Spirit, that becomes the teacher:

But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you (John 16:13-14).

The Holy Spirit guides the believer into all truth and glorifies Jesus Christ, not signs and wonders; not supernatural manifestations; and not experiences rooted in false teachings.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil
(Proverbs 3:5-7).

In his article, "To be Forewarned is to be Forearmed," Mike Oppenheimer speaks directly to those who are caught up in the experience, rather than God's truth:
If people gather to see signs and wonders, they are already removed from the prescribed order for a church gathering. God is interested in communicating truth not just His power. God’s Word is truth that has the power to change lives. God said He would lead us into truth through His Word, not through miraculous signs. God still does miracles but He will NOT honor falsehood by the power of His presence. Any sign or wonder must be questioned, and tested by the word rather than relying on the experience itself to validate it.
Therefore, which is primary? Experience-driven signs and truth sacrificed on the altar of experience, or trusting in the Savior Jesus Christ?

Manifestations or man-infestations?

Patricia King's Extreme Prophetic website includes "Supernatural" photos taken during various functions. On this page, Joshua Mills (accompanied by his wife and Patrica King) is seen with "Gold" in the palms of his hands. This page features photos of Mills with glitter on his forehead and hands, and "oil" dripping stigmata-style from his hands. This page consists of an "Angel" hovering over a building, numerous angel "orbs," "Fire" and "Flagging Lights," "Gold Leaf," a "Purple Angel" hovering above a crowd, "Gemstones," "Glory Clouds" and, in the bottom left-hand corner, and a photo taken in Puerto Rico of what is claimed to be footprints of an angel (click here for the enlarged version).

While Patricia King, Joshua Mills, and others within the Charismatic movement publicly testify to supernatural manifestations of the expensive kind, it is the manifestations of the feathered kind that prompted the following letter to King, with the hope she would back her claims and cooperate with a very simple request:

Obviously, more than a "few days" have passed since CRS's September 23 letter to Patricia King. Nevertheless, in a follow-up on September 30, CRS called Extreme Prophetic to speak to Patricia King about the request for a feather, as well as other issues. During the call a representative said King was out of the country, and that King would read and reply to her e-mails upon her return at the end of the week.

But the end of the week came and went with no reply from King or her staff.

On October 7, CRS called Extreme Prophetic, again, to speak to Patricia King, but was told she was unavailable. The staff member said she would make sure CRS's letter would be referred to the proper individual for review.

In light of 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 and 1 John 4:1, when claims of the supernatural are made, those making the claims should be ready, willing, and able to validate their claims and provide proof. If their claims are true, they have nothing to fear from public scrutiny.

Yet, as of this writing, there has been no reply from Patricia King, and no further replies from her staff.

Are the feathered manifestations a supernatural blessing from God, or infestations of mankind's ignorance and greed?

Closing comments...

Simply put, those caught up in the signs and wonders movement should take serious Jesus' warnings to His disciples in Matthew chapter 24:

Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many...For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance.

In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, the Apostle Paul warns that lying signs and wonders will play an important part in the downfall of those who choose to follow a lie over the truth:

Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

Although supernatural manifestations are considered by many as "great" signs and wonders, it doesn't mean that the manifestations are real. Those who truly love Jesus Christ do not waste their time crawling around on the floor searching for gold nuggets and gemstones, nor do they fixate their eyes on church ceilings and the sky searching for "angel" feathers.

Christians keep their eyes on the One Who suffered and died on the cross, the Alpha and the Omega, the Savior and King of kings--Jesus Christ:

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2).

While claims of supernatural manifestations will increase, here are some important words from Jesus Christ, Himself, that should be strongly considered by anyone caught up in the signs and wonders movement:

The Pharisees and Sadducees came up, and testing Jesus, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But He replied to them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.' "And in the morning, 'There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times? "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and a sign will not be given it, except the sign of Jonah." And He left them and went away (Matthew 16:1-4).

An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign... Jesus didn't mince words. He said what He meant and meant what He said. Seeking after a sign is a sin that draws the believer away from the Person and work of Jesus Christ. It is a form of idolatry:

We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, guard yourselves from idols (1 John 5:19-21).

Christian Research Service tried to contact Patricia King numerous times, and allowed her plenty of time to reply. Indeed, with all those "feathers" floating around, surely King or a member of her staff could have spared at least one feather for scientific analysis?

I have nothing personal against Jamal Bryant, I love him. But his message is what I hate as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am placing this video up to warn you to stay away from such garbage and turn to sound doctrine. Sound doctrine is only found in the scriptures. Not your pastor, not your new book, or your new T-Shirt, no sound doctrine is found in the Bible, in the scripture alone (Sola Scriptura). The Unbiblical Practices Series: Prophelying

Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. (Jeremiah 14:14)

Please don’t become weary, you may be disturbed by what false prophet Benny Hinn is doing as you see the tears rolling down the eyes of the little boy. I love Benny Hinn because of the Lord Jesus command to love. I hate the evil practices that he is doing upon this child. In the video, it is as if he enjoys it, but he is doing what I call prophelying. I coined this term from a Christian friend of mine who is currently trapped in the WoF (Word of Faith) movement, so it is not a theological term. Nor is it a word of endearment. This word is formed by taking prophesy and lying, and compounding them together. Hence you get: prophelying. It means to predict the future events or reveal the secrets in a person’s life (similar to that of a psychic reading) and coin such a prediction as God’s doing. Prophelying is performed by some of today’s well known false prophets and false teachers. Here’s a list (yes I will name their names): Benny Hinn, Jamal Bryant, T.D Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Noel Jones, Eddie Long, Paula White, Juanita Bynum, Cindy Jacobs, Chuck Pierce, Dutch Sheets, Bill Hamon, Patricia King, any TBN, Daystar/God TV telethon participants.

This post is very close to my heart. I have previously repented from this practice. I have searched the scriptures out to see if what I was doing was true. I found that prophelying is not of the Lord Jesus Christ. Prophelying is dangerous and is not something any Christian should become involved in. Yes Christians, true blue ones can prophelie. So while I named all the false teachers above, I myself was in that category of false prophets. I thought it gave me so much power to look into people’s lives and predict what I thought to be true. I have seen the tears rolling down men’s’ faces. They thought I was some great person with a gift only God could give me. God didn’t give me this, my flesh did.

I hope in this post, the brethren of the Lord Jesus Christ, and even you who are in need of Jesus, can come and find rest in Him by the exposure of this unbiblical practice. I will attempt to identify the primary target of this practice. I will use my own experience in this evil to show how deceiving prophelying can be. We should also understand that prophelying can come to pass. We must not take this practice lightly, instead flee from coveting after such practices. This practice is clearly not of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Main Focus of Prophelying: Your flesh/emotions/feelings
The target of a prophet liar is the flesh. Feelings and emotions is where prophelying releases it deadly poison. The emotions and feelings of a person’s flesh is weak, and a smart prophet liar knows this (Matthew 26:41;Mark 14:38; Romans 7:18-22). Look at how Benny Hinn in the above video takes advantage of the kid’s feelings. The kid was star struck as he came on stage, and his eyes are filled with tears. This is perfect for Benny Hinn as he seizes the opportunity. Prophelying looks to make you cry, or make you feel good. It touches your emotions and strokes them gently. By the things a prophet liar is saying, the subject stands in amazement and awe, hoping to hear more and more of what supposedly God is going to do.

Psychics do the very same thing to their subjects. They tell you predictions that primary poke at a person’s flesh whether good or bad. Prophelying consists of what is named in the bible: divination, enchantment and witchcraft. Wow, some heavy words but let’s look at the scriptures:

And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. (2 Kings 17:17)


My experience with prophelying
I know about this subject because of a former post, I spoke of my experience as Jeremiah the prophet. This I have repented from, but it has left scares and pain I wish I could take back. Here is how I would attack a person with my prophelying:

1st thing – observe/gather information – scan everything you can possible about the person. If you know a little bit about their life, that is good. Mean looks, happy looks, whatever you can go off of helps you add to bits and pieces of the prophelie. I sometimes would take heed to what my wife told me about certain people. This made it easier for me so I didn’t have to guess, or wait for the tingle feeling up my back.

2nd thing – always start with the Lord said statement – I would always start my prophelie with a statement like: Thee Lord is telling/told me; The Lord is saying; God told me; I was praying and Jesus said to me; You looked at me and the Lord spoke to me.

3rd thing – put flavor into your message – I had problems looking people in the eyes (that should have told them something right there). So I would add some emotional reaction to make it look like I was receiving a message as I talk. Like I would stop and act like I am listening to God. I would add a little grunt to make it look real good. I always made it a point to talk about things that people wanted to hear. Statements like: “God is going to multiply your……(as long as it’s good); Jesus loves you; He knows your pain and your struggles; God is bringing peace to your situation. Do you see how general and flesh grabbing these statements are? They just add flavor to it, that’s all. Any bad information never dealt with repenting from sin and turning to the Lord Jesus Christ. Bad stuff always dealt with staying away, don’t do this, touch not, or taste not. It never dealt with So here’s the flavor I would add with a bad statement: God is saying you have a problem and your going to wrong way, change, and you’ll see God’s salvation of God! This general statement is not repentance. It is only to tickle your fancy.

4th thing – look for crowd participation – Saying amen and nodding that it’s God, only fuels the fire. I would always search for tears because that meant that I got them. It worked. The prophelie succeeds when you see the person’s approval. Rejection of it, would mean the person did not “honor a prophet in their own country”.

5th thing – take your imagination as far as it can go - I would say prophelies that would get many people pumped it. I would wear WWJD bracelets as a tool to fuel my prophetic power. I would search for a tingle feeling on the side of my head which would indicate God was speaking. I tried being very poetic, adding some words: Thus, thou, art, anything that sounded KJV if you know what I mean. I would take my imagination far, to make me look good. People thought I was so spiritual and so deep. I was not

I am not at all proud of the things I have done as a propheliar. I repented of all the things of have done under that practice. I have destroyed many people’s lives, and if I would appear before Jesus Christ, may my works be burnt up. I will not deny, I prophelied. And yes, I was a Christian during this time.

God warned me several times during misguided mess. Bad doctrine and not understanding biblical hermeneutics can really lead a Christian down the wrong way. The practice of prophelying, does such a thing as it draws you away from the Word of God into chasing after other gods. Those other gods could be the false prophets I listed above, money, and so on. Whatever will try and keep you from seeking the Lord Jesus Christ first, or keeps you from doing what Colossians 3 instructs us to do.


Prophelies can come to pass
This is where most people get tripped up in the prophelie experience. The supposed prophet says something and it comes to pass. Without doing any biblical investigation, the subject will automatically believe that it is Jesus speaking with the so-called prophet.

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 13:1-3)

This is amazing scripture. Such a wonderful text. We obviously know that none of the false prophets today outright come out and say let’s follow other gods. Actually they do, but they do it in a descrete way. They are wolves in sheep’s clothing my friends.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (Matthew 7:15)

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:13)

There prophelies are masked to lead you to follow other things beside Christ. Do you think Benny Hinn is encouraging believers and those around to repent and teaching them the bible? No, he is cashing in and collect, as people come to his crusades for one thing, healing. The same idea was attempted here with Paul, but Paul possessed the Spirit of Jesus:

And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers, (Acts 16:16-19)

The damsel tried to lure people to her market (after other gods), by masking herself with the truth. Her intent was to draw a crowd and people away from the truth. And this is exactly what propheliars do, some not even realizing what is taking place.

This very thing happened to me as I prophelied. I remember I had told one boy that he was going to be a great preacher one day for the Lord. I also that night spoke how the church I was prophelying in was going to change and increase etc. Well, the young man went out and got on drugs but later gave his life to God and came preaching to the church of how good delivered him (good thing). The young man and the church began to follow after such things such as speaking in tongues, and chasing after prophesies more than God’s Holy Word. The churched has not increased or gone over to the nations. I made that lie up because of the different nation’s flags I saw around there church. I was thanked for being bold. I felt good inside, and I worshipped myself. I just told me more that I was God’s chosen one. Do you see how I went completely away from the Lord Jesus Christ, chasing after fame and a name for myself?

Flee from prophelying!
Please repent if you are in such a practice now. Don’t damage anymore lives. Follow after the Lord Jesus Christ and seek the edification of the Body of Christ through God’s Word. The best way to test the spirits to see if they are of God:

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1 John 4:1-3)

I know that we all want that sort of experience. God can speak to our minds, and Christ can do wonderful things. But, the Word of God is enough for us. I cannot stress that enough. Studying the scriptures takes time, but it is the best thing that you as a Christian could do. Watch out for those who say they heard a Word from God.

For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD. And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked. The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD. And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of the LORD? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:11-33)

Unbiblical Practices Series: Slain-in-the-spirit/falling-out

As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. (John 18:6)

In the video above, false prophet Benny Hinn, is seen parading around at one of his crusades. He is telling the audience to watch how the “Glory of the Lord” has fallen upon the youth in the front row of his stage performance. You see him shouting and swinging his hand around while boys and girls are falling back as if Benny Hinn has slapped them real hard and they just got knocked out from the blow. This shenanigan is called falling out or being slain in the spirit. It is associated with God manifesting His power or His glory falling in a particular place. When this type of event takes place, those involved associate the manifestation as a move of God. I have searched the scriptures intensely, to see if this phenomenon was true. I have found it not to be. I had a good Christian friend of mine point me to a scripture he believed justified this slain-in-the-spirit. There is a falling back in the scripture, but not in any likeness to what is shown over the so-called Christian church today. This falling out phenomena is leading many astray, because there’s no testing of what being slain-in-the-spirit really is. I can say without a shadow of doubt, it is not of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Slain in the Spirit is not in the bible
I have searched for years to find out where this practice is done in the scriptures. First let me describe to you what I searched for. Falling out takes place when an individual taps you on the forehead or does something to gain a perception that power is going from one individual to another, and as the power is being transferred, the individual receiving the power, falls backward on to the ground (sometimes the men will stand behind an individual to catch the person falling). The visual manifestation concludes that a person is lifeless and not in control over the power which has taken over them. In response they fall backward supposedly yielding to the power of God. Really? Well none of this, I mean none of this is found anywhere in the bible. Search the scripture yourself to see, and you will see it is not anywhere in there. No apostle waved his hand over a crowd of people as they fell backward receiving God’s power. No disciple put his hand over the forehead of an individual and pushed them back towards the ground. Neither did they turn and tell the public that the glory of the Lord has fallen. No such practice is in our blessed Holy Writ, only the testimony that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.

Might I had too, if anybody tries to justify to you that John 20:30 shows that Jesus did it, it’s just not written; don’t believe such hogwash. Point them right to verse 31 and say, what was written is enough, because what was written was for us to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have life through His name. You don’t have life falling out!

What about Peter’s trance in Acts 10:10?
I was describing to my barber one day how I didn’t believe slain-in-the-spirit was biblical. I explained to him there’s nothing in the bible which supports people being touched by God Almighty and falling out. (This was during a time when I began to search scriptures questioning the practices of some of the doctrine I was believing). My barber so kindly went to his bible and pointed out Acts 10:10 to me. I love this brother man because he was not afraid to grab the bible and attempt to prove his beliefs. He had said he had questions earlier in his life about his wife. He saw her one night lying on her back on the floor not saying a thing. His wife had said God was revealing things to her as she lay out on the floor in the presence of God. He then had me open the bible and I read the following scripture:

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. (Acts 10:9-18)

He pointed out to me that God showed him that Peter falling into a trance was what slain- in-the-spirit was (Let me add with one false doctrine comes a slew. My Christian friend believes in female pastors, new age apostles+prophets, speaking in tongues, armourbearers, and so on). Of course, I believed it like the fool I was, and didn’t refute my brother’s belief because he was a pastor. I still had questions in my mind though. Was there a person who knocked Peter in the head to fall down? What does trance really mean? Which way did Peter fall, backward or forward? Did the bible say God touched Peter? It wasn’t until a sound bible teacher came on the internet and explained to me what proper biblical hermeneutics was. I learned how to do biblical exegesis of a text, and not come to a text with my opinion. Jesus Christ gave us the best example of proper biblical hermeneutics; let scripture interpret scripture. Check this out real quick:

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Matthew 4:5-7)

Jesus Christ interpreted scripture with scripture. Wow! Anyways let’s look at the context of just of Acts 10:10 alone. Quickly we’ll see that this was not a slain-in-the-spirit manifestation. Let’s look

And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance, (Acts 10:10)

The verse is started off with Peter being very hungry. Why is that written? In verse 9 we are told that Peter was coming to the rooftop (during that time roofs were flat) to PRAY. And Peter was hungry, so hungry it caused him to fall into a trance? Trance in the Greek transliteration means the following:

ekstasis ek'-stas-is - a displacement of the mind, i.e. bewilderment, "ecstasy":--+ be amazed, amazement, astonishment, trance. It is used in the bible to mean: 1) any casting down of a thing from its proper place or state, displacement 2) a throwing of the mind out of its normal state, alienation of mind, whether such as makes a lunatic or that of a man who by some sudden emotion is transported as it were out of himself, so that in this rapt condition, although he is awake, his mind is drawn off from all surrounding objects and wholly fixed on things divine that he sees nothing but the forms and images lying within, and thinks that he perceives with his bodily eyes and ears realities shown him by God.
3) amazement, the state of one who, either owing to the importance or the novelty of an event, is thrown into a state of blended fear and wonderment.

So Peter's mind was thrown out of state in order for his soul to be subject to the vision God had given. Another place in scripture where a simliart trance took place is in Acts 22:17. Paul is describing that when he was praying in the temple, he was in a trance which altered his state of mind in which God spoke to him. Question, do the people who are pushed claim God has spoken to them by altering their mind? No, and if so what did God say and does it line up with scripture? Anyways, did Peter’s hunger have something to do with his falling into a trance as he prayed? Yes because look at what God used in the vision given to him: FOOD. Wouldn’t that get your attention if you are starving for some lunch?

Also note that the verse does not indicate that Peter fell on the ground. Do some looking at the verses transliteration in the Greek and you’ll see fell has nothing to do with Peter falling down on anything. He was under the control of the Holy Spirit. How frequently did this trance happen in the bible? Not many times. So why today, is all this falling out taking place in church services and revival meetings? Come on people; let’s really begin to define things happening today by the scriptures alone. The point is Acts 10:10 does not justify that falling out is a valid practice of the bible. In fact, I even question whether my brother’s wife was hearing from God. Was she just in a world of fleshly emotion?

Falling Down is in scripture

As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. (John 18:6)

The scripture above, we see those who were coming to seize Christ Jesus fell backward onto the ground, when Jesus Christ spoke “I am He”. No hands on the forehead, no one coming up asking for prayer, healing, a miracle, just some enemies of God looking to arrest Jesus. They fell back at His Word. Are the so-called Christians of today doing the same? No, falling out takes place when the so-called evangelist/speaker for God puts his hand over your forehead, waves his arm at you, or commands to the crowd to fall back. Being deceived, they fall back thinking what they are experiencing is God when what is happening not even biblically sound.
Now there are some scriptures that contain falling down in them. Again, look at the context of these scriptures etc, and see if it lines up with the mess we see today in the churches. Check out these (Genesis 50:18, Numbers 22:26-34, Deuteronomy 9:17-27, Joshua 6:20, Judges 5:24-28,Judges 19:22-30, 1 Samuel 19:24, Acts 16:27-34, Revelation 5:14, Revelation 22:8) See if anywhere in there falling down coincides with what takes place today. No, you will not find a thing in there about slain-in-the-spirit.

What is this phenomenon?
I don’t know truly what slain-in-the-spirit is? I can tell you it is not biblical. It is not of God and if your church is practicing such a thing, please flee. Look at the video I provided above and don’t laugh at Benny or those people. Weep, and cry, FALL DOWN on your face before the Lord Jesus Christ, and repent. Cry out that the churches in this world today have sinned against the Lord. The doctrine of slain-in-the-spirit is false unbiblical doctrine. Many people, even desperate Christians, are doing such practices to receive something from God that Christ Jesus us not behind. Let me just leave you with what Jesus is saying in His blessed Word:

At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
