Judge Not Lest You Be Judged

Old video, but hits home the point well: God's Word should be the standard.

For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. (Hebrews 4:12-13)

Sound Doctrine

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
(Titus 1:9)

Sola Scripture, the scripture alone is our sound doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ. Not a pastor, a prophet, or so called apostle can give you pure doctrine like the Word of God, the bible.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

As you will see in my links below, try to stick with teachers who give you the Word straight from the Word. Better yet do what was advised to our brother in Christ Timothy:

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
