Will you love them?

One day I was watching TBN making fun of the preachers on TV. I then began to realize my hatred for these men. I repented and remembered this verse of scripture:

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. (Romans 13:8 ESV)

As we grow in Christ, we must put away our bitterness and hurt, our wrong judgment of the churches in America. Yes, there is false doctrine out there, yes a majority of it is bad. But did the scripture say write off everybody, did it say not to love them? No it didn't. But Karsten, it says to mark those that cause divisions. We should name names? Yes but do you love them? Would you love Fred Price, or Jamal Byrant if his bentley was broke down? Or would you tell them they need to get biblical? Look, we are to mark, not to slander, we are speak the truth in love, not call everyone a heretic we disagree with. Honestly, I am tired of seeing angry professing Christians. I am asking you and me too, to love, even the false teachers and the heretics. Love the one you disagree with. I wonder sometimes how we would treat those that have done us wrong if we met them again later in life. Would we love the erring church we came from if the woman pastor was sick in the hospital? Would we visit her? Huh come on, would you love?

I end with one of the most powerful words of the scripture.

And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." And they cast lots to divide his garments. (Luke 23:34 ESV)

  1. Brother, I have to agree with you 100%.I had to do the same thing. I am learning that some of those peopl are caught up thinking they are right. It definitely took an enlightenment of God to show methe truth.

  2. Brian,
Isn't that awesome how God extends His mercy to us and shows us the truth. I used to be very angry at those who didn't agree with me. But after reading how knowledge puffs up and we are to be of the same mind, the pride balloon deflate quick. Thanks bro
